Turn & Fire + Friends - 12th & 13th September

Open Art Studios - Collaborative Weekend

As part of the Hurst Open Studios, Turn & Fire is delighted to present Turn & Fire + Friends, a vibrant celebration of local artists, makers and craftspeople in the beautiful garden of our studio in Hurstpierpoint.

Over two days, visitors will have the opportunity to browse and purchase a diverse range of handmade work, meet the artists behind it, and enjoy live demonstrations showcasing traditional and contemporary craft techniques. Throughout the weekend you can watch artists at work, including basket weaving, crochet, felting and flower arranging, and discover the skill and creativity behind each piece.

We're also pleased to welcome some fantastic local food, drink and entertainment:

  • The Hop Tub serving their own locally brewed craft beers from a pop-up bar
  • The Sussex Afternoon Tea Company offering delicious homemade cakes and savouries
  • Fresh coffee and tea available
  • An open mic tent with live music throughout the weekend. Musicians are welcome to join in and entertain us too! If interested, drop us a message at hello@turnandfire.co.uk

Live Demonstrations

Our demonstration area will feature:

  • Richard and Jackie from Turn & Fire demonstrating pole-lathe woodturning and raku ceramic firing
  • Louis Clark showcasing traditional stone carving techniques
  • Leon French demonstrating the art of spoon whittling
